Abstract
There is a lot of discussion about the “Me Generation” of millennials being less philanthropic than previous generations. Some claim that Gen Xers and Millennials do not “give” as much as baby boomers. But is this the case? Are there generational differences in philanthropy? The presenter will share information gathered from the professional literature regarding generational differences toward philanthropy, and discuss strategies for building multigenerational advisory and fundraising boards. She will also discuss ways to engage the next generation by learning about their passions and developing messages that resonate within contemporary communication streams, including social media.
