The department encourages students to participate in small ensembles in order to develop critical skills of ensemble playing. All UNLV ensembles are open to any UNLV student, and most require previous experience and an audition. UNLV’s Jazz ensembles have been featured in concerts and recordings with artists-in-residence and special guest artists. Jazz ensembles at UNLV can focus on Contemporary Jazz, combos, vocal or Latin jazz music.
