The School of Nursing's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program prepares students to take the RN licensure exam and to qualify for future leadership positions in the health field. We collaborate with Nevada State College to offer an RN/BSN online program for those who already hold their RN license. UNLV also offers a Master’s of Science degree in Nursing with two tracks available in this web-based program, the Family Nurse Practitioner Track, and the Nurse Educator Track. We also offer post-masters certificates in these areas.
The School of Nursing PhD program is focused on Nursing Education to help meet the need for more highly qualified faculty in Nevada and the surrounding states. More recently, we added another track focused on Urban Sustainability related to Health. Graduates of this track will help solve the healthcare issues of urban populations.
We have started an online DNP program in collaboration with the University of Nevada, Reno with two tracks: One focused on advanced clinical practice and the other focused on nursing leadership in health care organizations. Students have access to expertise of faculty from both universities.
We have an outstanding group of faculty, many of whom are Certified Nurse Educators and many who have funded research and publish extensively.
