Abstract
Modern architecture for most of us seems to simply embody progress. Glass and steel skyscrapers, though, mean something different in Mumbai, Shangai or St. Petersburg. What they mean and what went before them were issues that have absorbed author Daniel Brook. He's been writing about those issues while he's been a fellow at the Black Mountain Institute. He's speaking Thursday night at Greenspun Hall with other fellows.
