Abstract
Casey Lipman (math educator) and Bonnie Charles (special educator) have co-taught together at Independence High School for 4 years. This semester, Ms. Lipman and Ms. Charles are co-teaching a section of Algebra I to a diverse group that includes students with disabilities. They set a goal at the beginning of the year to do a better job finding ways to incorporate time for specially designed instruction for students with disabilities within the general education content. They have struggled with this in the past: How do they give some students additional, individualized instruction without causing them to miss important information and instruction the rest of the group is receiving?
