Abstract
In the Massachusetts Casino Model, there are three casinos with three onsite GameSense Information Centers mandated by statute and operated by the Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health. The GameSense program, paid for by the Mass. Gaming Commission, focuses on player health, employee engagement, and community awareness. This presentation will go into the logic model, the data associated with the related interactions and their efficacy, and the feedback loop that is now forcing an updated model in 2023.
Implications Statement:
This is the only "onsite at a casino" center model with a third-party nonprofit entity offering direct services to players and their families in the United States. The lessons learned from this model could revolutionize regulatory and public health efforts in gambling expansion both in the U.S. and beyond.
