Abstract
As a state, Nevada's tax burden is a relatively light one. Property taxes are low, there is no personal income tax, and Nevada is ranked seventh in the United States for being business friendly. Nevadans have a reputation for resisting government interference in their day to day activities. Nevada's history with gaming, its brothels, and its reception of legalized marijuana are proof enough of that. It is this reticence toward government interference that makes taxation in Nevada such a challenge.
