Frozen in Time

Description

October 2011, there was a snowstorm. Trees, still covered in leaves, fell from the added strain of snow on their branches. Flowers froze in full bloom. Our library records freeze items in a moment in time. We capture information so that they can be discovered in the library catalog...yet forget sometimes that these works are alive under all of our layers of description. That even the language we use to describe is alive and ever changing. I research the ways we describe the world, how to improve and update the vocabularies we use to rejuvenate our library catalog.
