Abstract

The effects of religious priorities on attitudes toward religion and politics are examined. Using a pilot survey from the American National Election Studies, items are used which correspond to four distinct mission orientations: activist, civic, evangelistic, and sanctuary. Only the activist and mission orientations exhibit strong relationships with political attitudes.
