The journal is student-run with faculty supervision. Students interested in experiencing the process of publication in an academic journal and in building their professional credentials through publication are invited to submit papers following the Submission Guidelines (below). To be considered, papers must conform to the requirements listed. A short form must accompany submission. For more information, see http://patpsisigma.wordpress.com/pat-journal/

Eligibility:

Any UNLV history major or minor, undergraduate or graduate, or alumnus/a may submit a paper to be considered for publication. Preference may be given to members of Phi Alpha Theta, although membership is not required.

Paper types:

Research-based papers and historiographical essays may be submitted for review; book reviews also are eligible for consideration.

Paper length:

The text of the paper may be 10-25 pages long, with additional pages for endnotes if necessary.

Format:

Papers must be submitted as an email attachment to the editor. Papers must be in .doc or .docx format, be double-spaced and written in Times New Roman, 12-point font. All papers submitted for publication must have a title page with the paper’s title, the author’s name, the semester the paper was written, and the faculty member for whom the paper was produced or who is acting as advisor.

Citations:

All papers must follow the Turabian/Chicago Manual of Style citation system, with endnotes instead of footnotes. No Works Cited page or Bibliography is necessary.
