Abstract
Over the past decade, remarkable advancements have been made in the area of genetics. When this work first took off in the 1990s, I (CY) remember numerous discussions about the role of nursing and nursing research in the area of genetics and health. In those days, professionals spoke about nurses being involved in genetic counseling. Today, nurses are involved in the entire scope of health genetics and even engage in basic laboratory work.
