Abstract

The study surveyed 1,200 hospitality industry professionals and compared the results to hospitality educators' to determine their perceived expectations, benefits and use of hospitality research. It analyzed the major areas of research interests each group had and how closely research has served those interests. Results suggested that there are some significant gaps between the industry professionals and the educators. Considerations are suggested for narrowing the gaps.
