Abstract
Jennifer Taub’s Big Dirty Money: The Shocking Injustice and Unseen Cost of White-Collar Crime (2020) establishes its primary point straight from the title. The book was written during President Donald Trump’s time in office, and Taub essentially frames the book around his and other conservatives’ scandals and crimes. The book, to me, is an important one—it is written to be easily read by members of the public but draws upon legal, sociological, and criminological research. Ultimately, though, I think that Taub would have benefited from slightly less slant; although it is important to convince people that white-collar and corporate crimes are things that we should be angry about, she demonizes American conservatives in a way that—to me—renders such a message ineffectual for certain parts of the population.
