Abstract
This paper reviews the therapies for genital HSV infection, giving special attention to the influence of study design on the interpretation of results. The results of many therapy trials for oral HSV infection have been included because many investigators reported results of therapy for HSV infections without distinguishing between oral and genital HSV infection.
