The National Institute for the Advancement of Education is built on a foundation of innovation and research intended to identify and disseminate next-generation practices in urban education and educator preparation across PK-20 contexts. We explore education innovations that serve as models nationally and internationally, leveraging the richly diverse context of our communities. We are a semi-autonomous unit housed in the UNLV College of Education and guided by two advisory bodies — the NIAE Research and Initiatives Panel and the NIAE Engagement Advisory Council. Both groups of diverse stakeholders advise and consult on new projects, initiatives, and programs to ensure activities align with local, regional, and national priorities.
