Abstract

The event was the third in a series celebrating the 50th anniversary of Special Collections and Archives. An implosion. A cloud of dust. Another Las Vegas landmark gone, making way for a new resort, a new landmark, a new chapter for the city. With every change to the city's skyline, people say a piece of Las Vegas history is gone. But the stories and records of these businesses and the people who made them possible are preserved in UNLV University Libraries's Special Collections & Archives. We assembled a panel of three notable Las Vegans, who often partner with Special Collections & Archives, to discuss how they use historical materials to bring Las Vegas history to life.
