Abstract
Isolation criteria for adjacent signal variations are developed for the wavelet transform modulus-maximus (mod-max) method. These criteria are developed with respect to the tracking of mod-max extrema. Scales are defined for which adjacent signal variations-singularities and smooth variations-may be accurately tracked and may provide accurate information for use with the mod-max method.
