This photo shows an ordinary Nicaraguan street. But on this street, I was truly inspired by interviewing a woman who participated in an entrepreneurial training program offered by an organization that seeks “business solutions to poverty.” She cried as she told me how, because of this program, her sewing business has taken over her home and she has bought another residence. In partnership with this innovative training organization, I have used my qualitative and quantitative research skills to rigorously understand how to help entrepreneurs like her, and publish the findings in academic journals so that others can learn as well.
