Abstract
Women, today, are much more strongly represented in the American judiciary than ever before. The United States has a number of different methods of judicial selection. It is not clear that any one judicial selection system is responsible for the increase inthe number of women judges. In terms of judicial output, the results of this increased gender diversity are mixed. Although women judges do not seem to speak in a completely “different voice,” it is clear that they bring important experiences and perspective to their decision making role.
