Abstract
George Saunders writes short stories that combine dark humor and deep compassion. His imaginative style has drawn comparisons to Kurt Vonnegut, and Saunders has become a critical darling, earning everything from a Guggenheim Fellowship to a MacArthur Genius Grant.
