Abstract
Richard Wiley is the author of numerous short stories and the novels Soldiers In Hiding, winner of the PEN/Faulkner Award for Best American Fiction;Fools' Gold; Festival for Three Thousand Maidens;Indigo; Ahmed's Revenge; and Commodore Perry's Minstrel Show. His latest, The Book of Important Moments, will be available from Dzanc Books on September 10. In the late 1960s, Wiley served in the Peace Corps in South Korea. He has also lived in Japan, Nigeria and Kenya. He is currently the director of the UNLV Creative Writing Program and the Associate Director of the Black Mountain Institute.
